Re: parades
I wanted to comment on what rocky was saying.. There definitly was not much of a crowd at casey last weekend.. I'm not sure about all the other locations because I have never been any other place for maora racing, but, There has to be some way that we can get the word out(ie, advertising). I took some short video clips last week from my digital camera from casey last week and put them on youtube.com but thats all I have came up with so far. I think the internet and advertising with the local radio stations in the event areas is the key to drawing a crowd. But like I said, I have only been to casey to see the races so I do not know how all the other places operate. Websites such as offroad.com, the lucas oil website would be a good place to start. Maybe they would be interested in adding some info about maora. Just my .02....

Re: parades
i would have to agree with both of you if we keep are prices low and can get are payouts up you will draw people in and get the tv coverage to help draw the spectators and sponsors it all works hand in hand and the track owners should do the advertising but we all know some places dont but some have gave it 110% on this and done a great job so great job to those who have done this keep up the good work one day you will be rewarded and the ones that dont let them lose money like to also say great job to those who help make this grow and fight to keep things where they need to be some people get shut down but dont always be the first to thow stones listen to everyone and maybe we will find the information we need

Re: parades
Just so you all know and I hope I know what IM talking about this time......MAORA is the sanctioning body and the track owners are supposed to promote it to get people thru the gate. Some of you may remember a race we had I think was in Flora maybe but anyway the track owner promoted it heavily and had live radio there. They had a $8000.00 gate. We have been extremely lucky to have Lucas Oil and Howard Packaging step up and sponsor us. With out TV coverage it is very hard to secure more sponsors. Most everyone I talk to wants to know where and when we will be on TV and I have to say "Were not". We average 60 members per year. If every member could bring in 1 $1000 sponsor we could offer $600 added money to win every class. We need bigger tracks to attract higher horsepower vehicles and more racers. We also desperately need more volunteers. Marengo was great almost every service provided there was free of charge volunteer work. Also if you are reading this your on the web. Anytime you can link to our web page. The better rank we can get the more we will be seen. Hope to see you all this weekend!!!!

Re: parades
tuff or maora it does not mater, just like to see more spectators they are what keeps things alive.it is nice to race for fun but sponsor's like to see people at the races that way their names are seen and people uses money in their direction.you talk tuff truck, monster, demo,or a lot of local things and you get a crowd.they all have been around for a long time.So has MAORA but for some reason we do not get the crowd???? Wy is it ????no beer tent, no band, no young lady's running around in tight clothing, I do not know the answer. but still trying the parades that are local.people still do not know we exist and it has been around for 30 or so years.
